Today, you have a TED-ed lesson! NEXT TUESDAY, you will have a quiz worth a test grade on the following topics:
1. Determining the number of protons an atom has
2. Determining the number of valence electrons an atom has
3. Determing how many bonds an atom is likely to form (this is related to #2)
4. How are ionic bonds and covalent bonds different?

This quiz will be VERY SIMILAR to the questions from the google forms from Tuesday and Thursday, and today's TED-ed questions. If you are confused, EMAIL me to schedule a hangout time so that we can discuss the questions you are having trouble with.

ALL GRADES distance learning 4.7.2020

TODAY you will be getting organized for the following few weeks in science class. You will need to understand how to use the following 2 online platforms:
  • Google hangouts
  • Google forms
You have 2 tasks to complete today to show Ms. Hubbard you have become familiar with both google forms and google hangouts:
Watch this video before you do anything else today- this explains today's lesson!
After the video, complete the tasks below.

TASK #1: Take this google forms practice quiz to show Ms. Hubbard you are able to do this easily. If you cannot do this easily, EMAIL or TEXT her today so that we can work out a different way for you to submit answers.

TASK #2: Join a google hangout and say "hello!" That's all you need to do!!!! You can join a google hangout by: going to hangouts.google.com and waiting for an invite to pop-up.
You only need to go to one hangout today and say "hello!"
Choose one of the following times to "hangout" today, April 7th, 2020:
11am
2pm
5:30pm

This is all you need to do for science class today! If you have any problems, email Ms. Hubbard before 11:59p on Tuesday, April 7th!

ALL GRADES distance learning 4.6.2020

TODAY and TUESDAY you will be getting organized for the following few weeks in science class. You will need to understand how to use the following 3 online platforms:
  • TED-ed
  • Google hangouts
  • Google forms
You have 2 tasks to complete today to show Ms. Hubbard you have become familiar with the TED-ed website. The tasks are listed below. NOTE: your work will save to the TED-ed website, so there is no need to send a google doc or a photo today! Wahoo!

TASK #1: Create an account on Ted-Ed
1. Go to ed.ted.com and create an account. You should choose register in the upper right corner. (Look for the green arrow in the picture below).
2. Register your school email and go to your email to confirm your account.
3. When you confirm your account via email, make sure you sign up as a student. (See the picture below). You can click whatever you want for "I'm interested in learning about."

4. Scroll ALL THE WAY DOWN and click the red button that says Continue to TED-ed.
5. This is all you need to do to get started! 

TASK #2: Complete a TED-ed lesson
1. Click here to take your first TED-Ed practice lesson. You will need to watch the video and answer the questions under the THINK tab and DISCUSS tabs. (See picture below). There are 5 total questions. 
COMPLETE THIS TED-ED LESSON BY 11:59p on TUESDAY, APRIL 7th! THIS IS A PARTICIPATION GRADE AND ALL CLASSES ARE DOING THE SAME LESSON!
