Extra credit EC-T2-2

Below are some extra credit opportunities students can work on over the holiday break.
All extra credit assignments are due on Friday, January 10th.
Students should write the answers to their assignment on a sheet of notebook paper and label it : EC-T2-2

6th grade movie poster assignment

In class on 12/9, students were asked to create a movie poster that demonstrates their knowledge of geologic time. Students were to pick 1 of the 4 eras of geologic time and create a creative movie poster about it. The eras are: Pre-cambrian, Paleozoic, Mesozoic, Cenozoic.

Below is the scoring guide for the movie poster assignment:
1 pt: era is displayed neatly
1 pt: Title of movie is creative
2 pts: 2 extinct animals are drawn
2 pts: habitat and climate accurately drawn
1 pt: Poster is neat an organized

Homework week of 12/9/2019 HW T2-4

Paper copies have gone home for 7th and 8th grades, they will be due on Monday, December 16th. 
6th grade will have a homework assignment due on Tuesday, December 17th. The review packet is a test grade- 6th grade will not have an in-class midterm.

8th grade card house project write up

You will need to complete a write about assessing your group's card house project. Please read through and following the steps below:

STEPS:
1. Create a google document and give it the title CARD HOUSE PHYSICS PROJECT.
2. Cut and paste the following question into the document: Describe the structure of your card house.  Answer the question on your google document. (2 points)
3. Cut and paste the following question into the document: Did your card house withstand the force of the fan as 100 cm away? Answer the question on your google document, insert a picture if you can (2 points)
4. Cut and paste the following question into the document: How close were you able to get the fan before your house fell over? Answer the question on your google document. (1 point)
5. Cut and paste the following question into the document: EXPLAIN the results of your card house project. Use scientific reasoning in your answer. You should use the following terms in your answer: friction, inertia, normal reaction force, ONE of Newton's Laws. Answer the question on your google document. (5 points)
6. After you have answered all of the questions above, share the document with Ms. Hubbard. PLEASE NOTE: Your group will receive additional 4 points for following all of the constraints! This project is worth 14 points!
