7th grade web lesson 11.29.2018

PART 1: protein synthesis
Watch THIS video and  make a LIST  of the steps of protein synthesis. You are going to use this for your project that you start tomorrow, so be detailed.
Your list should include: transcription and translation, with at least 2 details for each of those.

PART 2: MUTATIONS
Take 8 detailed notes about genetic mutation using this video. Your notes should include:
What is a mutation?
How does a mutation happen?
Are there different kinds of mutations?

Did you finish early?
FIRSTLY, go back and make sure your notes are THOROUGH and DETAILED.

EXTRA CREDIT week of 11.6.2018

Write 5 facts about things you learned from listening to this audio clip.
Your facts should be:
1. In complete sentences
2. Complex in nature
For example, I already know the 7th grade studied DNA transcription. If a students turns in an extra credit assignment, and one of their facts is: DNA is transcribed in the nucleus, that isn't a complex fact! We learned that a few weeks ago. If a student writes Bacteria cells do not have a nucleus, so transcription and translation happen in the cytoplasm, unlike in animal cells, THAT is a complex, new idea, and THAT is worth extra credit!
